North Quincy High School opened first as North Junior High School in 1926 and added one high school grade a year in the early 30's, graduating its first high school class in 1934. In 1959, the seventh and eighth grade students moved to the newly-opened Atlantic Middle School, leaving grades nine through twelve at North Quincy High School. Renovations and an addition were made to the school building during 1978-1980.

The school colors are red and black and the students are spiritedly known as the "Red Raiders."
